It is a great pleasure of the Croatian Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and lonian Region (EUSAIR) and of the Adriatic-lonian Initiative (AII) to invite you to the 9th EUSAIR Forum - Shaping the Future of EUSAIR. Hosted and organised in Sibenik on the 15 & 16 May 2024. The Forum marks the successful finish of the Croatian Presidency and the collaborative efforts of all involved in the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and lonian Region.

The Forum offers a distinctive chance to explore final results of the revision of the EUSAIR, its Action Plan and governance architecture. It was clear from the outset that substantial multi-state, multi-stakeholder dialogue towards one shared vision meant a rejuvenated, more pertinent, more effective, more future-proof EUSAIR.

At the time when the EUSAIR revision is in its final stage, EU discussion on post 2027Cohesion Policy is in full swing. Macro-regional strategies are taking an active role and are already discussing the best way to move forward. At the EUSAIR Forum stakeholders will have the opportunity to take part in that discussion.

The involvement of youth in the EUSAIR is a key aspect, marked by crucial steps towards the establishment of the Youth Council. With it, young people of the Adriatic and lonian region will gain a platform for wider collaboration and active participation in shaping the socio-economic development of their living space, in line with the overarching objectives of the EUSAIR.

The Forum will be organised jointly by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds of Croatia and the EUSAIR Facility Point Project Partner, Ministry of Tourism and Sport of Croatia, in close cooperation with the European Commission and supported by the EUSAIR Facility Point.

Within the general framework of the EUSAIR Forum, the Adriatic Ionian Council / EUSAIR Ministerial meeting will take place on May 15.

We sincerely hope you will be able to join us, and we are looking forward to welcoming you in Sibenik, Croatia.

You can already find the practical information on the EUSAIR website, more will be available soon.
