The XII Conference of the Speakers of the Parliaments of the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative under Albania Presidency will take place in Tirana on Monday 28 of April and will be chaired by President Ilir Meta.

The gathering will give further backing to the activities of the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative, with the possibility of appointing parliamentary delegations to the AII, and to the future EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region.

Its focus will be on EUSAIR and its role in supporting the EU integration process as well as on "promoting sustainable economic and social prosperity of the Adriatic and Ionian Region" and "promoting tourism activities and services based on local products".
