On Saturday 28 October, the international Conference “Financing the EUSAIR” was held in Cesenatico (Italy). The aim of the event was to create a first occasion for cooperation among EUSAIR Governance, the private sector and International Financing Institutions (IFIs).
Among them, the European Investment Bank, the Development Bank of the Council of Europe and the Italian “Cassa Depositi e Prestiti” attended the meeting that was chaired by the Italian Undersecretary of State, Sandro Gozi.
The AII Secretary General, Amb. Castellaneta attended the meeting and addressed the audience by highlighting the role of the AII supporting the participation of Adriatic and Ionian stakeholders to the macroregional process, facilitating the establishment of new partnerships for the presentation of strategic regional projects to be presented for funding to EU Programmes or to International Financing Institutions.
The 7th Meeting of the Governing Board of the EUSAIR took place in Brussels on 27-28 March 2018. National Coordinators discussed about the implementation of the Presidency Programme, including activities realized up to today and the preparation works for next EUSAIR Forum to be held in Catania on 24-25 May 2018, on the state of playoff Thematic Steering Groups works, on the support to key implementers by the EUSAIR Facility Point and on the next call of the Transnational ADRION Programme.The Adriatic and Ionian Initiative Committee of Senior Officials was held in Brussels, back to back with the GB, on 27 March. Senior Officials discussed about the support of the AII to the contribution of Stakeholders to the implementation of the EUSAIR, about the activities under the Italian Chairmanship’s Programme and the AII/EUSAIR Ministerial Meeting to be held in Catania on 24 May, in the occasion of the III EUSAIR Forum.
The 3rd Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), will take place in CATANIA (Italy), on 24-25 May 2018, under the slogan “Our Region, Our Future”.The Forum will focus on the Connectivitiy issues, especially on challenges and opportunities for Transport and Energy networks in the EUSAIR Region. Funding mechanisms for all four Strategy's Pillars – Blue Growth, Connecting the Region, Environmental Quality, and Sustainable Tourism – will be discussed, while considering the EUSAIR cross-cutting issues. The prupose of this year's event is to reinforce collaboration and partnerships among all stakeholders active in the Adriatic-Ionian Region. Ministers from the eight EUSAIR Countries, EU Commissioners, representatives of other EU institutions, Regional and local governors and key implementers of the Strategy will be among the speakers joining the Forum which will be accompained by numerous side thematic and cultural events.
