14-2-2012 On February 14 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece, in cooperation with the EU Commission, has organized in Athens the first workshop of the “stakeholders” of the future Adriatic Ionian Macro-Region.

29-11-2011 Secretary General, Amb. Pigliapoco, took part to the ministerial conference “ Regional and Transnational Cooperation against organized crime”, in Belgrade. The conference organized by the Serbian Chairmanship of AII, SEECP and MARRI was chaired by Minister of Interior Dacic and introduced by the President of the Republic Tadic and European Home Affairs Commissioner Malmstrom. 18/11/2011 Secretary General Amb. Pigliapoco attended the “Regional Conference on prevention of natural hazards and disasters” organized by Serbian Ministry of Interior in a cooperation with the chairmanship of AII and SEECP.
4/11/2011 Amb. Pigliapoco participated to the INCE Summit in Belgrade, dedicated to the Global Economic Crisis. In his speech he underlined especially the role of the AII in strengthening regional cooperation in order to promote the process for the approval of the European Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Macro-Region. In the same occasion, Amb. Pigliapoco met Amb. Dusko Lopandic, new Serbian Senior Official, in order to debate about the activities to carry on during AII Serbian Chairmanship.
25/10/2011 Amb. Pigliapoco met Admiral Giovanni Pettorino and visited the Ancona Coast Guard headquarters. In the occasion, the activities and functions of the Coast Guard have been illustrated as well as the modern instruments of the Operation Centre. Eventually, Admiral Pettorino offered his hospitality for the AII Round Table on Maritime Cooperation under Serbian chairmanship on December 2011.
11/10/2011 Amb.Pigliapocp took part to the Open_ Days of the Committe of the Regions Iin Bruxelles. During the same say the Committe approved the opinion on the Adriatic- Ionian Macro Region, another important step before approval of the European Strategy by the European Commission.
03/10/2011 The AII Small and Medium Size Enterprises Round Table took place at the Palace of Serbia with the participation of the representatives of the Ministries of Economy, a representative of AII PS and a representative of the Forum of Chambers of Commerce. 30/09/2011 Serbian Ambassador in Italy Ana Hrustanovic, chairman of the AII, visited the Permanent Secretariat in Ancona. The meeting was focused on the role of Serbia in the AII and the future of the Adriatic Ionian Macro-Region.
23/09/2011 Secretary General Amb. Pigliapoco participated to the event organized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic in the occasion of the 66th session of General Assembly of UN, with the participation of all Ministers of Foreign Affairs representing the member States of AII, CEI and RCC.
27/08/2011 President of Region Marche, Gian Marco Spacca, with Secretary General Amb. Pigliapoco and other authorities opened, in Piazza Cavuor, Ancona, the event “ The Adriatic Ionian Macro Region for the development of Europe”.
20/08/2011 Secretary General Amb. Pigliapoco inaugurated the Adriatic Mediterranean Festival, with the participation of the Mayor of Ancona, Mr. Fiorello Gramillano, the Toursim Alderman of Region Marche, Mrs Serenella Moroder and the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Ancona, Mr. Rodolfo Giampieri. With the occasion the Moroccan writer Tahar Ben Jelloun was awarded for his engagement in the fight against racism.
21/06/2011 The first Committee of Senior Officials under Serbian Chairmanship met on June 21st in Belgrade with the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic. During meeting, the official exchange of function between Amb. Alessandro Grafini and the new AII-PS Secretary General Amb. Fabio Pigliapoco took place. Please click here for the official documents.
23/05/2011 The Adriatic Ionian Council concluding Montenegrin Chairmanship took place in Brussels at headquarters of Committee of Regions. The eight Ministers of Foreign Affairs have confirmed their support to the European Strategy for the Adriatic Ionian Macro-Region. In the occasion all AII participating States welcomed the Italian proposal to appoint Amb. Pigliapoco as the new AII Secretary General. Please click here for the Brussels Declaration.
